Our Diagnostic Services 

We are pleased to offer advanced diagnostic testing through our in-house veterinary diagnostics lab, allowing our veterinarians to provide an accurate diagnosis of your pet's medical issues.

• Radiography (Digital X-rays)

  We can examine your pet's internal systems with a radiograph (digital x-ray) to reveal information that isn't visible from the outside.

  Radiography is a painless, non-invasive procedure. It only uses very low radiation doses. Because the amount of radiation required for radiography is so low, even pregnant and young pets can have this procedure done.

  Broken bones, chronic arthritis, bladder stones, spinal cord diseases, and some tumors can all be diagnosed with radiographs.

• Ultrasound

  Our team of veterinary professionals can create extremely detailed images of your pet's internal structures using diagnostic imaging.

  We use ultrasound imaging to produce images of the inside of the body by exposing a part of the body to high-frequency sound waves.

  We can see the structure and movement of your pet's internal organs, as well as blood flowing through the blood vessels because we capture ultrasound images in real-time.

  Because our veterinarians have access to this cutting-edge technology in our in-house lab, your dog or cat's condition can be diagnosed quickly and treatment can begin sooner.

• Bloodwork

  We can run a variety of common and specialized blood tests to determine your pet's health and diagnose illness at our veterinary lab in North Providence.

  CBC (complete blood count), WBC (white blood cell count), hemoglobin and MCHC (mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration), hematocrit, platelets, eosinophils, and blood serum profile are some of the most common veterinary blood tests we perform.

• Urinalysis

  Urinalysis is a critical diagnostic test that gives your veterinarian important information about your pet's urine's physical and chemical properties.

  Urinalysis is primarily used to evaluate the health of your animal's kidneys and urinary tract system, but it can also be useful in detecting issues in other organ systems and is crucial in diagnosing metabolic diseases like diabetes.

  This is an important diagnostic test for both healthy and sick animals, and it should be included in any comprehensive health assessment of your pet.

• Fecal Exams

  A fecal exam is a microscopic examination of your pet's feces, which can be performed at our North Providence in-house vet lab.

  The ultimate goal of a fecal exam is to identify and treat any GI infections that may be threatening your pet's health, as well as your family's health. Your veterinarian can use feces to see if your pet has intestinal parasites like roundworms or hookworms.

  Parasites can make pets feel uneasy and irritable, as well as lead to more serious problems. Some of them can even be passed on to humans.

  These parasites are often hidden from view because they live in your pet's gastrointestinal tract. A fecal examination is the only way to detect them.

  Annual fecal examines should be a vital part of every pet's routine wellness exam.  

• ECG / EKG

  We usually take chest X-Rays and an electrocardiogram (ECG / EKG) if your veterinarian suspects your pet has a heart problem during a physical examination.

  This procedure is simple and quick to complete. It reveals information that could be crucial in your pet's diagnosis. In some cases, a cardiac ultrasound may be required to diagnose problems with the heart's chambers.

• Digital Dental X-Rays

  Much of the damage caused by periodontal disease in your cat or dog occurs below the gum line, where it is difficult to see. Our veterinarians use digital dental X-rays to assess your pet's oral health.

  Your pet will be safer with digital X-rays. They enable our veterinary team to examine the roots, bones, and internal anatomy of your cat's or dog's teeth.

  The risk of radiation exposure for your pet is significantly lower with digital X-Rays than with traditional X-Ray technology. To fully evaluate each tooth, we need to see below the surface of your pet's gum line.

  This technology allows your North Providence veterinarian to see results right away and review them on a computer screen.

• Surgical Lasers

  A highly focused laser beam is used to efficiently vaporize or chip away the tissue. The laser seals the capillaries, small blood vessels, lymphatics, and nerve endings as it performs this task.
  
  Surgical lasers can reduce bleeding, pain, and infection risk in your pet, allowing many of our patients to recover faster.
